• Zach Ilten

    BOARD MEMBER

    Zach is a husband to his wife Becca and father to four children. He studied at the University of Iowa and earned a BA in English in 2015, and continued his studies at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, completing a Masters in Theological Studies program 2022. Zach was introduced to classical Christian education through a church in Kansas City, and has since developed a fascination with it and seeks to promote it in the Iowa City area. Becca devotes much of her time to homeschooling their children with the assistance of a classical Christian homeschooling community. Zach currently serves as an assistant pastor at Good News Bible Church. His hobbies include reading, writing, and playing guitar.

    Becca is a wife to Zach and mom to four children. She homeschools the two older children with the assistance of a classical Christian homeschooling community. She devotes much of her time to researching, collecting, and applying quality Christian and classical homeschooling curriculum for her children. Becca has an associates degree in liberal arts, and several years of experience in early childhood education. She enjoys singing, cooking, taking nature walks, and reading good books with her children. Becca helps Zach with the youth ministry at Good News Bible Church.

  • Eric McDonald

    BOARD MEMBER

    Eric has enjoyed home schooling his daughters with his wife Melissa since 2015. Over these years he has taught math, logic, Bible, and literature and has enjoyed reading on the philosophy of education. His exposure to Christian education first came as a student in a K-8th Lutheran school where he was greatly blessed by the teachers, curriculum, and focus on Christ. He went on to complete a BA in Philosophy from the University of Northern Iowa and a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary. He serves as an elder at his church and ministers to international students and professors with the Navigators. In his free time he enjoys reading, fishing and hunting, and hiking.

    Melissa has been homeschooling her three children since 2015 when her oldest began kindergarten. Over the years she has served as a director and tutor of a local classical Christian co-op for children K-6th grade. Melissa loves introducing children to good literature, cultivating wonder as they spend time in nature, laying the foundations of composition and grammar, teaching Latin, and incorporating many of Charlotte Mason's methods into education. She has a B.A. from Wheaton College where she studied literature and economics. One of her roles with Coram Deo is in curriculum research, choice, and development. When she's not teaching, Melissa loves knitting, trying new recipes, writing Bible studies, and going for walks.

  • Ian Corbin

    Ian is an Iowa City native and attended the government schools from kindergarten through college. He received a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Iowa and an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Iowa State University. Ian is a licensed Professional Engineer and designs municipal and industrial infrastructure specializing in wastewater treatment systems. He has served as a volunteer in the youth out reach program “The Spot” and as a leader of a community group for the past eight years. In his free time he likes to read, garden, and fix things around the house.

  • Natalie Corbin

    KINDERGARTEN TEACHER

    Natalie is the wife of Ian and mother to three children. She grew up in Omaha, NE, the daughter of two educator parents. Natalie attended Iowa State University and received her B.S. in Civil Engineering. She currently spends her days reading countless books, exploring God’s good creation with her children, and building forts out of her couch. Her experience in teaching ranges from the working with her own children, volunteering at a youth out reach program “The Spot”, and serving in children’s ministry. Mrs Corbin loves learning and finding ways to help children store God’s truth in their heart. She looks forward to seeing children fall in love with good books and singing songs of praise to the Lord.

    Amanda Redlinger grew up in the Iowa City area and currently lives in Kalona. She has worked and volunteered with children in multiple settings, including a Christian preschool & Before/After School program, working with kids on several mission trips in different countries, volunteering with various children's programs at church, and most importantly being a mom to her 3 children. She also took several education classes at Moody Bible Institute, where she received a B.S. in Biblical Studies, and has a Master's in Social Work. In recent years she worked as a Christian therapist and has counseled people of all ages, including children and adolescents. She loves spending time with family & friends, reading, traveling, being outside, and has currently taken up an interest in gardening. She passionately believes in the importance of educating children for the glory of God and raising the next generation to follow Christ.

    Gerald F. Redlinger is a Christian who was born and raised in Iowa City and currently resides in Kalona with his family of 5. He has a BBA in Accounting from the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business. He has experience with business administration, entrepreneurial development and treasury management. Above all, he is passionate about the Lord Jesus Christ. He desires to see education in our country transformed to the Glory of God.
